NICOLAS GUAY est issu de la filière classique. Attiré par les contrastes musicaux, il aborde la composition en autodidacte. Deux productions sortent : Heaven Way/Juste une Trace avec son groupe Nema, puis quelque années plus tard l’album Campanas de la Esperanza/Adélie Prod avec sa sonate éponyme. Avec cette pièce, il obtient en 2005 le 2ème prix du concours international des Nuits de la Guitare de Lausanne, réservé aux guitaristes
compositeurs. En 2017, il signe sur le label Contrastes Records/Universal Music Spain, l’album Paradise Borders, salué par la critique, concrétisant ainsi 6 années d’écriture : Sonate en Hommage à Paco de Lucia, Préludes, Tarentelle…
